The design provides year-round, weather-resilient use while minimising visual impact and ongoing maintenance requirements. The courts will be fully accessible and integrated into the wider park offer, complementing the play park, mini-golf and sports hub facilities. Wetland Project - Trowbridge Park
The town council are collaborating with Wiltshire Wildlife Trust to design improvements for the pond in Trowbridge Town Park, working with designers Johns Associates. Despite having once been full of water, water levels in the pond have now dropped significantly and it has naturally developed into a wetland area. Rather than removing the aquatic plants to return to the pond to its previous state, which lacked plant and animal variety and was dominated by rats and ducks, Trowbridge Town Council and Wiltshire Wildlife Trust saw this as an opportunity to enhance the wetland area, and free the Paxcroft Brook, to create a thriving habitat that both animals and the community can enjoy.
