We are looking for a Shining Star to start Christmas Celebrations this year!

Trowbridge Town Council is once again looking for a ‘Shining Star’ to help Light up Trowbridge this year! We would like a special member of our community to join us to switch on the Christmas Lights in Trowbridge on Friday the 17th of November at 6.30 pm.

We want our Christmas event to be a special occasion for those in our community, and we want to involve our residents in this town-wide celebration! We would love to hear from you with nominations for a special person to flip the switch on our town lights and get Trowbridge glittering ready for Christmas!

Do you know someone who is a really positive role model for their peers or who is a star in the community?

Do you know a local hero or someone who goes the extra mile to help others or benefit the local community?

If so, we would love to hear from you!

In 2022, we had our local BMX superstar Amelie Eaton join us for the switch-on—a worthy winner of the title of ‘Shining Star’ with an amazing track record of wins in the British Championships, the National Series, and qualification for the World Championships.

Who would you like to see at the Switch On this year?

Please send your nomination to events@trowbridge.gov.uk providing a little more information about your special person and why you feel they should be our switch-on celebrity’ for 2023! The last date for submitting your nomination is Friday the 13th of October.

All nominations will be read by Mayor of Trowbridge Stephen Cooper, and a ‘Shining Star’ will be chosen by Monday the 6th of November to take part in our switch-on event on Friday the 17th of November.
