Trowbridge Town Council Express Regret Over Local Visitor Economy Partnership

At the Policy and Resources Committee meeting held on the 5th September it was resolved that the town council will write to Wiltshire Council and copy in the town’s two MPs, Visit Britain and the Tourism Minister to express regret that Wiltshire Council is not pursuing the option of partnering in the establishment of a Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) in the short term.

Visit Wiltshire reports that; Wiltshire’s Visitor Economy currently generates an estimated £1billion per annum and supports over 21,000 jobs.

In response, Wiltshire Council has confirmed that they are considering options for an LVEP to include Wiltshire and are discussing these options with VisitBritain.
