Town Crier Awarded for Dedication to Humanitarian Work

Our esteemed Town Crier, Trevor Heeks, received a prestigious award from the Lions International Foundation in recognition of his dedicated humanitarian work on Sunday 5th May 2024 during the Lions Club Afternoon Extravaganza .

The Trowbridge Lions Club, established for 49 years, is affiliated with Lions International, the world’s largest voluntary service organisation with over 1.3 million members and 46,000 clubs in 202 countries. In the British Isles and Ireland, there are 970 clubs located in various towns, cities, and villages. Trevor has actively served the Trowbridge Lions for 25 years, finding joy in contributing. His pride was evident as he shared his experience of showcasing his Town Crier skills at events like the Bournemouth International and NEC Lions International, attended by over 600 dignitaries.

As a dedicated Trowbridge Lions member, Trevor embodies the organisation’s spirit of service and camaraderie. His enthusiasm for events like the Bournemouth International and the NEC Lions International not only showcases his talent as a Town Crier but also his strong bond with the Lions community. Trevor’s contributions have made a lasting impact on his fellow members and dignitaries.

The May Day Festival holds a special place in Trevor’s heart, and his affection for the event, lovingly referred to as his ‘baby’, reflects his commitment to creating memorable experiences for the community.
