Parks and Green Spaces
We are responsible for many areas of green spaces around the town. This includes grass cutting, weeding, planting and conservation. We action all tasks in line with town strategy.
We are also responsible for parks around the town, this includes maintenance and repairs. See the list of parks below along with our ‘Report and issue’ form.
Long-term Leasing
Some areas of Green Spaces we hire out on a long-term lease. These areas are:

Churchyards
The Town Council are responsible for 3 closed churchyards (St James, Trinity and St Johns) and will be taking over responsibility of The Down Cemetery in 2024. The churchyard’s grass is cut on a monthly basis, with any remedial hedge work being undertaken in the winter period after the bird nesting season.
