Cemeteries Trowbridge

From 1st April 2024 Trowbridge Town Council now manage the Down Cemetery. It is a non-conformist burial ground that is open to the burial of people of any faith. This includes burials, interments of ashes, and services at the cemetery chapel.

Full burial arrangements are made through a funeral director. The funeral director then works with the cemetery team to arrange the date and time of the burial, the digging of the grave, and the use of the chapel if required.

We do not arrange cremations, but you can contact us if you wish to discuss the interment of ashes without the involvement of a funeral director.

For gravestones and memorials, please contact a memorial stonemason. Stonemasons must be registered with either NAMM (National Association of Memorial Masons) or BRAMM (British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons).

We also offer Exclusive Rights of Burial (EROB) agreements. The EROB is a contract that gives the holder(s) of the contract the legal right to make decisions about a burial plot.

Plots are not allocated in advance, but at the time of burial.

We are here to help, so please contact us if you have any questions.

The Down Cemetery, Trowbridge, is a Grade II-listed cemetery that was opened in 1856.

We are committed to keeping the cemetery an attractive and peaceful resting place. Please note that there are currently no public toilets at the cemetery, and there is limited parking on the grounds.
