Keeping Trowbridge Clean: Your Latest Update on Tackling Fly-Tipping Together

This week, the Trowbridge Town Council (TTC) Reactive Services team has been addressing reports of fly-tipping in the Trowbridge area. If you suspect that waste has been fly-tipped, it is important, in the first instance, to contact Wiltshire Council. Although this process may seem long-winded, Wiltshire Council Enforcement Officers have the authority to issue Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN’s) and to prosecute flytippers. They carry out inspections of fly-tipped waste to gather evidence that can be used to prosecute potential offenders. After the inspection, TTC receive approval from Wiltshire Council to remove the waste and dispose of it correctly.

Recently, in line with government legislation changes, Wiltshire Council raised fines for fly-tipping to £1000,  £500 for littering and £600 for household duty of care offences, with no early payment discounts.

You can find out more about this from Wiltshire Council.
