The countdown to the festive season is on, and Trowbridge Town Council is looking forward to welcoming you to our fantastic Christmas!
Join us for our Christmas lights switch-on event and spectacular lantern parade this evening!
Festivities will start on Fore Street at 4pm with delicious food and drinks from local caterers Velicious, The Cosy Kitchen, Still Sisters, and Freddy’s Double Deuce Bar. There will be festive entertainment on stage, with DJ Riky Grover bringing the party vibes from 4pm, Bratton Silver Band will be performing from 5pm to get us in the festive mood; and Rock Choir Trowbridge Frome Warminster/Westbury and Chippenham will be on stage from 6pm as the crowds gather for the start of the lantern parade. Be sure to join us early so you can soak up the festive atmosphere and sample some of the delicious treats on offer.
At 6.30pm, the lantern parade will move off from outside the Town Hall on a slightly extended route to take in a section of Castle Street and down into Fore Street. There will be hundreds of beautiful willow lanterns paraded through the town, led by the fantastic Jamma de Samba!
The parade will stop for a short while as the Mayor and our ‘Shining Star’ Amy Cottle will the switch on the Christmas lights.
Once the lights are on and sparkling, the parade will restart and lead crowds down to Trowbridge Park for a spectacular fireworks finale at approximately 7pm.
There is also the Christmas Market at the Civic from 4pm until 9pm
