An Exploration of Historic Fashion at Trowbridge Museum!

Introducing our first ever History Highlight Festival, 18th– 21st October!

A jam-packed programme of talks, workshops and performances. Each History Highlight festival will focus on a new topic, and we are excited to announce this year’s theme is Fashion, inspired by Trowbridge’s rich textile heritage.

This brand new, four-day festival has something for everyone. True followers of fashion now and then will enjoy our Study and Sketch day which allows you to get up close and personal with pieces from our amazing fashion collection, and for those who have a passing fancy for fads of the clothes that we wear and wear, our fun, interactive, family show Togas, Kirtles and Bonnets will provide laughs and enlightenment. The Festival culminates in our Fashion Forum on 21st October, a day of engaging talks and performances all inspired by clothes, textiles and their designers.

We have also teamed up with Parade House, a beautiful Grade 1 listed Georgian mansion in the centre of town, who will be putting on a cream tea, all served on beautiful vintage china. Feast yourself and then watch an enchanting performance of Regency dancing by the Jane Austen Dancers of Bath. Guests are invited to get up and join the fun for the final dance! They are also showing a number of fashion-inspired films in their luxury 24-seat cinema adjacent to their Ushers bar.
