Mayor-Trowbridge-Chains-Robe-Park

Last week was really quiet, at least when compared to the excitement of the week before!

My first duty of the week was to attend the Town Council’s Neighbourhood Services Committee meeting on Tuesday in my alter-ego as the town councillor for the Trowbridge Park ward. This has nothing to do with mayoral duties, but just goes to show that even as Mayor, I still need to carry on my normal activities as a ward councillor.

The same goes for a couple of other TTC workgroup meetings that took place during the week. Life goes on even when the mayor’s diary is relatively empty!

The one interesting meeting that I did have as Mayor was with a couple of our Ukrainian guests and their host. The 24th of August is Ukrainian Independence Day, and it is only right that we somehow help the Ukrainian families living in our community celebrate this day commemorating their national identity. TTC is now looking into just what we can do to try and help them come together on August 24th.

… and that’s it for last week. As I said, it was quiet! This week’s blog, which will be published next week (??!) will be a fair bit more newsworthy. That’s my teaser, and that’s all you’re going to get for the moment!

That’s it for now, so until next time, keep safe, and please be kind to each other.
